'Sell' Signal Enhancers

Oh dear, it seems the autism biomed community may have lost another shining light guru:

Last week the State Department of Health ordered the company and it's founder and CEO Barbara Brewitt, PhD to cease and desist her making and selling of drugs without a license. They also directed her to stop "posing as a medical doctor."

Turned in by a whistleblower who worked at the company for three months. Many of the 'Biomed' parents applaud whistleblowers so it should be interesting to hear their take on this story.

I have heard countless testimonials over the years about Barbara Brewitt and her Cell Signal Enhancers. She's presented at many autism conferences, and many parents say their kids have improved while taking her products. Here's one testimonial as an example:

Hi there, I usually read more than post but had to jump in on Dr Brewitt's products (www.biomedcomm.com). About 3 months ago, I started my xxxxxx on her homeopathic Cell Signal Enhancers, FGF-2 and the trio enhancer IGF-1, PDGF and TGF. WOW! He made HUGE improvements and continues to to do with these. I also started the HGH. xxxxx's development really soared: he no longer presents with autism but maintains a severe language delay. We have been treating him since 18 months and these signaling enhancers were one of the most effective treatments for him. Improvements in receptive language and following directions, sleeping, sharing, tolerating changes, eliminating the last of his self injury and extreme tantruming,....he began to smell things, count on his fingers, make "typical" eye contact, and now he is begining to speak to us. I know I have forgotten some things here but wanted to share our experience with this. We weren't keen on traveling to Mexico and I thought this might be a good alternative, and it is! All our kids are different and I pray this may help someone else. All the best, XXXXX

Wow, sounds like great stuff. I guess they were lucky enough to get a batch with the right ingredients.

His statement to investigators for the Department of Health also alleges that Brewitt, faced with a diminishing supply of one product, at least once ordered the bottles requested by a major wholesaler to be filled with another product they had on hand at the time.

I guess the secret lies in the way it's prepared:

Adler, who says he was hired to help establish a small manufacturing facility in Woodinville, says many of the medicines were mixed by Brewitt herself in her own kitchen as she chanted over a crystal bowl.

That's Crystal Bowl, not Crystal Ball, this is real science after all. You can find Barbara Brewitt's credentials on her website:

After ditching a career path in computer programming, and getting a master’s in divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver , Brewitt said she was plagued with questions about what disease was, so she decided to earn a doctorate from the University of Washington .

Along with many other fine confections

But there seems to be a few questions about her medical degree:

The Department of Health says Brewitt allegedly represented herself as a medical doctor to a Seattle-based pharmacy in to obtain a drug used in the manufacturing process. Brewitt holds a Ph.D. in biological structure but does not hold a medical degree and is not a licensed physician.

Gosh, I hope this doesn't mean other autism professionals have overstated their credentials.

Barbara says: There is obviously a misunderstanding on the part of the Department of Health."

Let's hope she's right so this matter can be resolved post haste. Just think of all of the kids missing out on $50 bottles of 99.9% water.

oh sweet jeebus. What a loser.

Why do I get the picture of Johnny Depp's character in Blow? Sitting in a jail cell the shamster is plotting how to make the next million: supply, demand, distribution and add a pinch of hope for good measure.

Who's next? Are some of the usual suspects looking over their shoulder?

She may have to take another look at the competition.

Apparently the 100% pure stuff is now only $33 / bottle.

:D

Oh, but that's a reasonable price tag for 'clustered' DHMO, isn't it? lol.

Makes one wonder what else is in those chocolate bears....

besides the special sulfuration something or other.

She has a whole line of chocoalte bars with drugs in them or something....

In line with BC's comment, maybe Brewitt will have to learn how folks signal each other in prison cells. You know, banging on the pipes and so forth.

has anyone check the water? perhaps the magic ingredient is in there?

"Since 1996, Dr. Barbara Brewitt has built a successful homeopathy products business with more than $1 million in annual sales."

depends upon what you mean by 'success' i guess.

...

"clustered water": wtf? the uspo gives out patents on anything these days ... what next? a patent on the healing power of moon beams?

i guess there's no point asking why authorities don't require proof that these products actually have any therapeutic value? that any of the claims made about them are true and proven?

Hi KCsMom,
Hard to believe people fall for crap like this but there are so many more who haven't been caught. Part of the formula for a successful alternative medicine or treatment is to target desperate people. That's why the same diseases are listed as treatable with the same products, though some will repackage them to fit the malady.

Autism gets lumped in with these serious and often terminal disorders not because it shares any of the same characteristics, but because the families affected are so desperate for a "cure."

If you'll notice in reading through some of Brewitt's conference presentations, she makes sure to address all of the common panic words like mercury toxicity and measles infection. It's no wonder parents are desperate to cure their toxic or viral kids before it's too late.

Just about all of the popular autism clinics, treatments, and products are rebranded to treat other disorders. Autism is profitable but not enough to sustain all snake-oil and salesmen.
